Selling chargers on Amazon US requires a UL report: What is the difference between UL certification and a UL report?

Published in English.

UL certification (US safety certification, not federally mandatory but often required by e-commerce platforms and buyers) is voluntary, while a UL report usually refers to a test report based on UL standards (such as UL 62368). Amazon US frequently requires UL or equivalent safety reports for charger products, but not all categories mandate it. The difference is: UL certification requires factory inspection and periodic review, while a UL report only covers sample testing. Timeline reference: UL report 15–30 working days, cost reference range 1,000–60,000 RMB. It is recommended to first confirm the specific category requirements on Amazon, then decide whether to do a report or certification.

UL reports are issued by qualified partner laboratories; Shuwang Testing & Certification Platform can coordinate testing and pre-review documents. Note: UL is not a certification body, and neither are we; certificates are issued by UL or its authorized agencies. If the product also has FCC requirements, testing can be combined to save costs.
