The product had already passed EN71 testing and obtained a report, but was rejected by platform review upon listing, which required a test report compliant with US regulations.
Amazon US requires children's products to provide a CPC certificate (Children's Product Certificate, a conformity declaration issued by the manufacturer based on third-party test reports) and an ASTM F963 test report, while the seller only provided an EN71 report. EN71 is the EU toy safety standard and cannot replace US requirements. The product was stranded in the warehouse, incurring daily storage fees and facing the risk of delisting.
Urgently contacted an engineer at Shuwang Testing and Certification Platform to assess the differences between the product and the ASTM F963 standard and determine the additional test items required. Samples were sent to a partner laboratory (CNAS/CMA accredited) for ASTM F963 testing, while technical documents required for the CPC certificate were prepared in parallel. Based on the test results, the product formulation was adjusted (e.g., replacing coatings containing excessive lead), and key items were retested. Shuwang assisted in compiling the CPC certificate, ensuring complete and accurate information, and submitted it for Amazon review.
After supplementary testing and rectification, the product passed Amazon review and was relisted. The total cycle was approximately 15 working days, with a cost of about 8,000 yuan (reference range). The seller subsequently managed US site and EU site product testing in parallel to avoid standard mismatches recurring.
Toys exported to the US must comply with ASTM F963 and CPSC regulations; EN71 reports are not accepted, and dual-market testing must be planned in advance. Choose a laboratory with CPSC-recognized qualifications for testing to ensure the report is recognized by the platform.
