Do test reports have an expiration date? How many years before they need to be redone?

At the regulatory level, test reports do not have a unified "validity period." The judgment is based on three points: ① whether the referenced standard version is still current; ② whether the product design, key components, or materials have changed; ③ whether the customer or platform has set a time limit (Amazon typically requires within 1 year, Saudi SABER requires within 1 year, and African COC mostly requires within 1–2 years). Industry practice is to review every 1–3 years.

A "report expiring" is essentially "the basis becoming invalid," not "time running out." Standard version changes are more fatal than the passage of time—for example, the transitions of EN 60335, EN 71-3, and UL 60950→62368 all caused large numbers of reports to become invalid.

Shuwang engineers have run this category often enough to know the bottleneck is usually the paperwork before submission, not the lab.

Service boundary: Shuwang Certification Platform is an export certification solution provider. It does not perform testing and is not a certification body. Testing described on this page is carried out by partner laboratories accredited to CNAS/CMA or ISO/IEC 17025; certificates are issued by EU Notified Bodies or by the authorised bodies of the destination country. Lead times and cost ranges are public industry references and depend on engineer assessment and body scheduling.
