Shipping with a Module FCC ID, Platform Determines Certification Invalid

The customer used a certified WiFi module and believed the finished product did not require additional certification.

The antenna layout and enclosure of the finished product changed the RF performance, and FCC requires recertification of the finished product (modular authorization conditions are not met), so it was rejected during platform review.

Assess modular authorization conditions: whether the antenna type, shielding, and power supply are consistent with the original certification. Re-test Part 15C for the finished product, including radiated emissions and spurious emissions. Have a TCB issue the finished product FCC ID. Update the label and the FCC warning statements in the user manual.

Finished product certification completed in 10 working days, and the Listing was restored.

The module certificate only covers the module; the finished product usually still requires an FCC ID. Antenna and enclosure are the key variables for determining whether the module certification can be reused. Platform review will check the FCC ID against product photos, and using another certificate carries extremely high risk.
