Reusing an old UL 60950-1 report led to an entire batch being returned by the North American customer

The customer used a 2018 UL 60950-1 report to respond to a new order in 2024.

UL 60950-1 has been withdrawn, and the customer's compliance department requires a UL 62368-1 report, so the entire shipment was put on hold and not accepted.

Conduct a standard gap assessment: differences between 62368-1 and 60950-1 in energy source classification, fire enclosure, and temperature rise criteria; supplement ES1/ES2/PS1/PS2 energy source determination and fire enclosure assessment; retest key items and issue a UL 62368-1 report; simultaneously update the standard references on the nameplate and in the instruction manual.

Complete the standard upgrade in 3 weeks and release the goods.

Standard generation changes are more fatal than "expired reports," and a standard version monitoring mechanism needs to be established. UL 60950-1 has been replaced by UL 62368-1, and new projects should no longer reference it. Reviews by customer compliance departments are often stricter than regulatory reviews, so preparations should be made according to their checklist.
