What certifications are required for exporting machinery and equipment to the EU?

Follow CE-MD (Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC). The core deliverables are: EN ISO 12100 risk assessment report, safety guard design (PL level verification per EN ISO 13849-1), electrical safety (EN 60204-1), complete technical file, and instructions in an official EU language. The 17 categories of high-risk machinery listed in Annex IV (punch presses, injection molding machines, woodworking circular saws, lifting platforms, etc.) must undergo EC type-examination by a Notified Body (NB).

What is most easily underestimated in machinery CE is risk assessment—it is not a table, but a traceable chain of "identify hazards → assess risks → take measures → verify closure." Eighty percent of NB review rejections get stuck here.
