What is the difference between CE certification and FCC certification?

CE is the EU's compliance system, covering multiple dimensions such as safety (LVD), electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), radio (RED), and chemicals (RoHS/REACH), and is mainly based on self-declaration; FCC is the electromagnetic and radio frequency compliance requirement of the United States, divided into two paths: SDoC (self-declaration) and Certification (requiring an FCC ID), with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission as the competent authority. For exports to the EU, do CE; for exports to the United States, do FCC. The two cannot substitute for each other, but radio frequency testing can be combined to save costs.

Practical recommendation: For wireless products, carry out a combined "CE RED + FCC ID" project. The radio frequency front end is the same, and the test items overlap heavily. Combining them can save one sample submission, and the total cycle is shortened by 7–10 days.
